AquaMizer Water Conditioning Systems
Up Flow Operation
As the photo on the left depicts, water flows into the AquaMizer Water Conditioning System through 1" porting. The water is routed down through the center riser tube where it discharges through the integral "Vortech" distributor built into the bottom of the filter vessel. This unique distribution through the "Vortech" distributor fluidizes the entire bed of AquaMizer Media. As the calcium laden water passes through the media bed, the calcium attaches to the AquaMizer media where it is converted into calcium crystals. Due to the bed expansion and turbulent force of water flow through the media bed, the calcium crystals break off of the media and are discharged as harmless crystals that will not adhere to anything. These systems provide all the benefits of water softening with none of the drawbacks!

Water is the Universal Solvent. Almost everything that water contacts is dissolved by water to some degree. A vast majority of our water supply in the USA comes from areas with underlying formations of subsurface limestone (calcium and magnesium). Over geologic time, groundwater, containing a weak solution of carbonic acid, dissolves this limestone. Hence, over 85% of our water has concentrations of these minerals present. These two minerals are considered the components of "hard" water. Hardness concentrations will vary dependant upon a multitude of factors with no two water sources being identical.
Water Hardness Impact on Car Wash Operations
Hardness levels and the impact on commercial car wash operations need to be carefully considered. Dependant upon the concentrations present, they can reek havoc on washing operations, both in the short term and over time. Hardness minerals form scale deposits that will plug expensive spot-free rinse system membranes, distribution piping, spray nozzles, coat hot water heating elements and damage internal components on pumping systems. In addition, the hardness ions compete with the surface active agents in detergents thereby reducing their cleaning effectiveness dramatically. In essence, hard water increases the amount of soap required to clean a car, thereby increasing your chemical costs, in some cases dramatically!
We've developed the AquaMizer Water Softener Alternative to solve these hardness issues for car wash operators. Our system uses no salt, don't backwash, require no maintenance or electricity, has a very small footprint and they are much less expensive than a twin alternating water softener. Think about it: no salt, no maintenance, they're small and they cost less while providing the same benefits of a water softener. Project Updates: 3/09 - Our Engineering Department has just been awarded the design/build for Water Recycling System treating heavy solids at a 600 gpm Truck Washing operation at one of the largest mines in the U.S. This is a 600+ gal/minute system treating up to one TON (2,000 lbs.) of solids every 20 minutes! Yes, 2,000 lbs @ 600 gpm. The "System" automatically filters and extracts the solids, recycles the water for 100% reuse and turns the solids back to "dry" dirt for reuse in the mining operations. In addition, an AquaMizer 3000 and an AquaMizer Water Conditioning system are also incorporated into this project. First quarter '09.
June '08 - We are very pleased to announce that an AquaMizer® Water Recycling System has been installed at "The Bridge" in Dallas, TX. "The Bridge" is a $21,000,000 Homeless Shelter that sleeps 500+ and feeds 1,000+ meals daily. The AquaMizer® recycles 57,000+ gallons of water daily from the facilities showers for reuse in flushing hundreds of toilets. Our engineering department worked closely with the project engineers to insure that our state-of-the-art system would meet the requirements of this extremely demanding application. We are proud of our work and also truly humbled to know that we've played a very small part in making peoples lives just a little bit better. Hydro Management Systems Awarded Largest Volume Full Service Car Washes in the Southeast United States! We have three four five SIX SEVEN AquaMizer® 3000 units operating in the highest car count full-service washes in the Southeast. In two of these washes we removed competitors systems, one was only a year old, and installed our systems. Hint: Repeat orders from some of the largest volume car wash operators in the United States are a pretty good indicator of a satisfied client and the successful operations of our AquaMizer Systems!
